This is a 35-minute flight that encompasses all the main geographic features in the Aoraki Mt Cook National Park by circumnavigating Aoraki/Mt Cook, our highest peak at 12,349 feet. Mt Cook is the centre of the national park and this circular flight takes in all the iconic geographic features that this region of NZ has to offer.You will see the longest glacier in NZ, the Tasman Glacier, on the eastern side of the main divide. We will then cross the main divide to the West Coast and take in the Franz Josef Glacier and Fox Glacier. We will circle back onto the eastern side of the Southern Alps into the Hooker Valley before returning back into the Tasman Valley to land back where we started.This is a fantastic flight that condenses the best of NZ’s scenery into an unforgettable experience. The walk, led by your nature guide, is on a well-formed track across the peninsula, through spectacular coastal forest to a secluded sandy beach.As dusk sets in and daylight diminishes, venture by torchlight through the native forest with the stars and forest night sounds around you. From Marahau jump onboard our very own water taxi and head to the golden sands of Onetahui. There its into the kayak for a magical paddle northwards, where we enjoy close encounters with the resident seal population. Enjoy a delicious lunch while your guide brews fresh coffee. There is ample time to take a swim. short walk or just relax. A string of beautiful beaches and enchanting lagoons await us on our paddle south, before we hoist our specially designed spinnakers for an effortless sail into Anchorage Bay. From here its back into the water taxi for a enjoyable ride back to Marahau.
