What You'll Get

The Experience

Graded as easy, this amazing trail is suitable for most people. Starting from Greymouth you’ll ride (or be shuttled) moving on to locations near and far, depending on the length of the journey chosen. In order to make the experience as comfortable as possible, the bikes are equipped with front suspension, puncture-resistant tyres and tubes and gel seats. Before taking on the rail trails, all guests will be consulted on what type of experience they are looking for, and receive a detailed ride plan with daily ride maps, and a ‘meals plan’ with convenient food sources to visit along the way. Those who wish to find out more about the natural areas, history and bird life on the trail may opt to include a professional guide for the duration of the tour.

Standard tour inclusions

All bikes come with front suspension, puncture-resistant tyres and tubes, suspension seat posts, rear racks, helmet, high-visibility vest, bike lock, gel seats and gel palm gloves. The tour also includes emergency shift in case of mishaps or bad weather; bike swaps are also available in case of any breakdowns. In addition, trail riders will receive daily updates during their ride with expected ride times, weather assessments and contact. For multiple-day tours, there are two days outside of cell phone reception, so participants will also get emergency equipment and a satellite phone or personal locator beacon. Prior to journey, the merchant will do a pre-ride gear check of the participants’ own gear and clothing to make sure the adventure will be safe and comfortable. Cycle clothing can also be purchased at the Outfitters base in Greymouth with a 50% discount by presenting the Groupon Voucher. Customers can also upgrade to battery-powered e-bikes at no extra charge.

Accommodation

Accommodation is included in the multiple-day rides, equivalent to three-star quality mark rating. Adventurers will get standard accommodation with linen and towels supplied. Meals are not included in the package price, but can be purchased at or nearby the hotel.
